Georgeham & Croyde Play Areas
The Parish owns the Croyde Play Park area in the centre of Croyde village. It is situated beyond the village hall and car park off Jones Hill.
The Play Park was rebuilt in 2018 and opened by Caroline Chugg, Chairman of Devon County Council at the time, though she had been the Parish County Councillor link for many years. The play equipment is designed for adventurous younger children to climb and explore, and use their imagination to create inventive games. It is very popular with local children and families, as well as visitors.
Within the same park area, there are two Volley Ball Courts which are available for public use, except when they are booked by the local team which has strong support, and is highly successful in National competitions.
GEORGEHAM PLAYING FIELD Georgeham Braunton EX33 1JT
The playing field in Georgeham is used for multiple purposes. It is an open space at times used by Georgeham & Croyde Rovers football team on some Saturday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. There is a dug out used by the teams and at present temporary changing facilities.
There is also MUGA (Multi Used Games Area) which is used by parishioners.
Children have a place to play with play equipment and there are a couple of picnic tables for use. The field is also available to walk/run on. Dogs are not allowed on the playing field.
In 2022 a refurbished chalet known as the Pavilion will be opened. It will be used as the changing facilities for the football team. This area will have toilets and a small kitchen area.
However, this will not be the only purpose for the new Pavilion.
It will be a Community Space for all, available to book through the Parish Council. The Parish Council is working on a Lettings Policy which will be available shortly.
Going forward we will be looking for caretaking services to help maintain the Pavilion.
